T A P E Collective Commissions

This is an exciting opportunity for writers interested in film, art and community. T A P E  aims to amplify a wider range of voices in film making and writing and are looking to commission more critical and thought-provoking pieces.

T A P E is a grassroots collective which supports a wider range of voices in film, we curate, collaborate, write about, support, produce and distribute and have in the past few years hosted a number of well-rounded screenings bringing together film, art, music, talks and more into one space and events with a focus on representation, identity and heritage. We hope to be building on our mission of creating a collaborative creative space and are working on a number of seasons and projects delivered in collaboration with a wide range of creatives, venues and organisations. More importantly, we’re looking to champion fair pay, representation and diversity in the industry. T A P E has also produced two zine issues: the first one called They Thought We Were Token, and the second issue, Moon Sisters, released six months later.

T A P E aims to amplify a wider range of voices in film making but also in writing. We aim to commission a piece of writing for most short films featured on GOOD WICKEDRY. We have a few paid opportunities for critical and thought-provoking pieces but also for creative and personal essays ranging from 1000 – 2000 words and are pleased to be partnering with Make It In Brixton to create more paid opportunities available and to collaborate on ensuring a wider reach for the written pieces.

If you’d like to pitch an idea or be kept in mind for any future commissions please get in touch at hello@tapecollective.co.uk. The rate currently starts at £70. Please have a look at the GOOD WICKEDRY blog to get an idea of the things we commission and platform.

We all want to make it.
Make it in our chosen career. Maybe make it big.

Sometimes perhaps just make it to pay day.
But whatever our ambition, what unites us all is the desire to thrive, be recognised – and be supported.
And that’s what Lambeth’s Creative Enterprise Zone is all about. Supporting creative people to do amazing creative things without having to leave our amazingly creative corner of south London.
Because we all want to make it – of course – but more than that, we want to Make It in Brixton.
